The St. Emmanuel Church of God in Christ is a small, yet growing, church with a big heart. We are located at 411 N. York Avenue, in Denison, Texas, 75020. In 2014, St. Emmanuel celebrated its 100th Year of service to the Denison Community. Our mission is to save the lost for Christ by teaching the Word of God. We believe the church is to stand as a beacon of light in a world of darkness. To this end, we teach Christians who they are in Christ and how to live a victorious life in their covenant walk with Him. We are a faith based church who loves the Lord and called to fulfill the Great Commission. Our church motto is “The Church where God abides, Jesus resides, and the Holy Ghost Presides.”
St. Emmanuel is a charismatic holiness church and believes in the active movement of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4(KJV), “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” The Church of God in Christ was founded by Bishop Charles Harrison Mason in November 1907, and is the largest African American Pentecostal Denomination in the world. The name, Church of God in Christ, is Bible based and is found in I Thessalonians 2:14. For more information about the church of God in Christ, go to http://www.cogic.org.
